A change to IEEE Std 802.11 for wireless local area networks (WLANs) that corrects an error in the position of the Protected Announce Support field in the Extended RSN Capabilities field in the RSN Extension element. This Corrigendum corrects an error in the published IEEE Std 802.11ay-2021. In subclause 9.4.2.241, Table 9-321 of IEEE Std 802.11ay-2021, the Protected Announce Support bit is reassigned.
The purpose of this standard is to provide wireless connectivity for fixed, portable, and moving stations within a local area. This standard also offers regulatory bodies a means of standardizing access to one or more frequency bands for the purpose of local area communication.
