IEEE Standard for Pad-Mounted, Pole-Mounted, and Submersible Switchgear Enclosures and Associated Control Enclosures--Coastal and Non-Coastal Environmental Integrity
Summary
New IEEE Standard - Active.
Conformance tests and requirements for the integrity of pad-mounted, pole-mounted and submersible distribution switchgear enclosures and associated control enclosures are included in this standard. Enclosure security and coating requirements, for coastal and non-coastal environments are covered in this standard.
This standard includes conformance tests and requirements for the enclosure integrity of pad-mounted, pole-mounted, and submersible distribution switchgear rated above 1 kV, up to and including 38 kV as well as the enclosure integrity of the associated controls. This standard applies to enclosure security and coating requirements for coastal and non-coastal environments
The purpose of this standard is to describe the requirements for a comprehensive integrity system for enclosures of pad-mounted, pole-mounted, and submersible switchgear and associated controls in order to provide long service life with minimum maintenance. At the discretion of the user and/or manufacturer, coastal requirements may be used in non-coastal environments.
