They are intended as minimum requirements whether the electric equipment is a part of the machine or is supplied and installed by the user. This Recommended Practice shall apply to electric equipment having a supply voltage of 600 volts or less
The purpose of this Recommended Practice is to define and recommend specifications for electric apparatus and devices, and installation practices to be followed in the application of such apparatus to textile machinery to promote:
a. Safety to personnel and equipment, including the reduction of fire and accident hazards.
b. Uninterrupted production.
c. Reduced maintenance, and increased life of equipment.
